The Machina skid plate for the Triumph Tiger 900 family (2024+) is a 3mm aluminium protection plate that solves a documented failure in the OEM Rally Pro design — a single-point sump mount that cracks sump covers on trail impacts. Four rigid brackets distribute force across four sump contact points simultaneously, quartering the impact load at any single point.

Both the sump and the exposed oil filter — which sits at the front of the engine beside the exhaust collector, a common strike point — are covered. Bracket geometry on the 2024+ version is specifically designed for O2 sensor clearance introduced on that model year; a 2020–2023 plate will not fit correctly on a 2024+ bike.

Bolt-on to existing mounting points with no drilling and no permanent modifications — installs in 15 to 20 minutes using standard spanners and allen keys, with all hardware included. Compatible with OEM lower crash bars and centre stand on GT Pro and Rally Pro variants. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Machina skid plate solve the OEM Rally Pro single-point sump failure on the Tiger 900?

Yes — the Machina plate uses four sump brackets that distribute impact across four contact points simultaneously, reducing the force at any single point to one quarter of the OEM design. The factory Rally Pro plate mounts at one point and concentrates 100% of impact there; multiple owners have cracked their sump cover on a single rock strike. The Machina four-bracket design eliminates that failure mode.

Does the Machina Tiger 900 skid plate cover the oil filter?

Yes. The Tiger 900's oil filter sits exposed at the front of the engine beside the exhaust collector pipe — a common strike point that most riders don't discover until after a trail incident. The Machina plate covers both the sump and the oil filter as part of its full forward coverage design. An oil filter strike means immediate, total oil loss; this plate protects against it.

Can I change the oil without removing the Machina skid plate on the Tiger 900?

Yes — the plate has a built-in oil-change provision, so it stays on the bike during routine servicing. No need to remove it for oil changes.

Is the Machina Tiger 900 skid plate compatible with OEM crash bars and centre stand?

Yes. The Machina plate is compatible with the OEM lower crash bars on the Tiger 900 — no removal or replacement needed. It is also compatible with the OEM centre stand fitted on GT Pro and Rally Pro variants.

Do I need a different Machina plate for the 2024+ Tiger 900 compared to 2020–2023?

Yes — this listing is for 2024+ models only. The 2024 Tiger 900 introduced an O2 sensor near the skid plate mounting area, requiring different bracket geometry specific to that model year. A 2020–2023 plate will not fit correctly on a 2024+ bike. Always verify your model year before ordering — contact us if unsure.

How long does the Machina Tiger 900 skid plate take to install?

Approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The Machina plate bolts on to existing mounting points — no drilling, no permanent modifications. Standard spanners and allen keys are all you need; all mounting hardware is included with the plate.

Fitment

Questions riders ask about this part

Will the Machina skid plate fit my Triumph Tiger 900 / GT / GT Pro / Rally / Rally Pro / 850 Sport (2024+)?

It is made for the Triumph Tiger 900 / GT / GT Pro / Rally / Rally Pro / 850 Sport from 2024 onwards. If you have other aftermarket parts fitted nearby, or you're not sure of your model year, send Machina a photo on WhatsApp before ordering and we'll confirm fitment.

What is the Machina skid plate for the Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport made of?

3 mm aluminium. Aluminium is strong for its weight and does not rust, so it copes with rain, mud and road spray.

How do I install the Machina skid plate on my Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport?

It bolts to the Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport's mounting points under the engine with basic hand tools. Fit all bolts loosely first, line the plate up, then tighten evenly. Any mechanic can fit it if you'd rather not do it yourself.

Is the Machina skid plate suitable for riding the Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport in India?

Yes. Tall speed breakers, potholes, flying stones and broken ghat roads are exactly what a skid plate is for. It keeps the sump and lower engine of your Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport safe from hits that could crack a casing and leave you stranded far from a service centre.

Can I still change the oil with the Machina skid plate fitted to my Triumph Tiger 900 / 850 Sport?

Check drain-plug and filter access when you first fit the plate. If access is tight on your model, the plate comes off with its mounting bolts in a few minutes for servicing.
