The Machina rear splash guard for the BMW F850 GS, F850 GSA, F900 GS, and F900 GSA keeps the spray, mud, and road grime thrown off the rear tyre off you and your passenger — protecting the pillion's feet and lower legs in particular, shielding the undertail, and helping keep luggage clean. These bikes are well known for flinging road filth straight up the rider's back and over the pillion; this guard is the fix BMW left off.
The mount is a rigid aluminium block at the rear axle — the axle passes straight through it — giving an extremely stable, rattle-free fit. The guard is angled and positioned with a measured clearance from the tyre, which is what keeps it clear of the number plate even under full suspension compression. The plate-clash problem that affects many GS rear guards is far less likely with this one.
One product fits all four models: F850 GS, F850 GSA, F900 GS, and F900 GSA. Guard is durable UV-stable ABS plastic; bracket is aluminium. No drilling, no permanent modifications. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

It intercepts the spray, mud, and debris thrown off the rear tyre — keeping the pillion's feet and lower legs clean, shielding the undertail, and helping keep panniers and luggage clean. The F850/F900 GS and GSA are particularly known for flinging road filth over the rider and passenger; the Machina guard is the fix BMW did not fit from the factory.
Very unlikely. The plate-clash problem affects many GS rear guards because they sit too close to the tyre's path and strike the number plate when the suspension fully compresses — typically two-up, loaded, over a bump. The Machina guard's angle and measured tyre clearance keep it well clear of the plate path, making this far less likely than with most alternatives.
It uses a rigid aluminium block bracket at the rear axle — the axle passes straight through the block. This gives an extremely stable, rattle-free fit. There is no shake or movement at any speed.
Yes — the same Machina splash guard and bracket fit the F850 GS, F850 GSA, F900 GS, and F900 GSA with no separate part numbers or fitment changes.
The guard is durable, UV-stable ABS plastic built to handle long-term exposure to weather, road grime, and cleaning. The bracket is aluminium. Both materials are chosen specifically for resistance to the conditions these bikes are used in.
Installation involves removing the rear axle to pass it through the aluminium block bracket — a bit more involved than a simple slide-in bracket, but straightforward with basic tools. The payoff is a rock-solid mount that never shakes loose. Allow 20 to 30 minutes for a first fit.

UV-stable ABS plastic with an aluminium bracket. ABS is impact-resistant and flexes instead of shattering, and it does not rust or corrode.
It is designed around the bike's existing mounting points at the rear axle, so it fits with basic hand tools. If you'd rather not do it yourself, any mechanic can fit it, and Machina can guide you over WhatsApp.
Yes. In the monsoon the rear tyre throws water and mud onto the shock, the underbody and your back. The splash guard catches that spray, keeping your bike's rear suspension cleaner and cutting down on corrosion.
Yes. It mounts at the rear axle and moves with the wheel, so the gap to the tyre stays constant through the suspension travel. If you run a larger or knobbly tyre, check clearance before a long ride.
